Phyllis Benoit is a retired teacher/professor of English. She still works reading and grading the S.A.T. essays and grading writing assessment tests for several states. She also mediates divorces and small claims. She loves to read, to swim, to travel and to play bridge. Originally from St. Johnsbury, Vt.; she now resides in Bow with her husband Herbert and her cat, Delphi.

 

 

 

Jane Berwick is a native of Concord who married the boy next door and spent 20 years traveling with her Air Force husband. Jane took dental courses at Harvard Dental School and dental x-ray courses at NHTI as well as Orthodonitic courses at UMass. After 26 years in Dentistry, she started up 3W Design, Inc. with 2 partners. 3W is an Interior Design business specializing in Commercial and Residential Design. Jane retired in 2001 and in 2006 was asked to take on the job of Executive Director of the Capitol Center for the Arts until 2008. She has retired once again. Jane is involved in many volunteer activities in Concord and was the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Citizen of the Year in 2002, Concord Business Person of the year in 2000 and received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Pineconia Grange in 2005. Jane and her husband Paul have been married for 51 years and have five children and eight grandchildren. 

Lucy Comstock-Gay is the Vice President for Development for Spaulding Youth Center in Northfield, NH. Prior to joining Spaulding, Lucy was Director of Community Building for United Way of Merrimack County and Executive Director of the Community Provider Network of Central NH. Lucy serves as a Trustee for the Concord Public Library and is a member of the Library Foundation board. She also serves on the advisory committee of Merrimack County ServiceLink and is an Oversight Board member for the Capital Region Community Prevention Coalition. Lucy has three daughters and lives in Concord with her husband Stuart.

 

 

Marilyn Ann Fraser was a teacher for 32 years, mostly in the Concord Union School District. She served on a state board committee reviewing teacher candidates for alternative degree programs and was a city councilor for Ward 8 for ten years, as well as a four-term legislator. She is on the board of many Concord organizations including Red River, CCTV, Girls Inc., YMCA and the Community Development Advisory Committee.

 

 

 

David Gill, the Recreation Director for the City of Concord Recreation Department. I worked as the Recreation Supervisor for the Department for nine years prior to becoming the Director. You could say my life has always been connected in one way or another to the field of Recreation in that my mother too was a Recreation Director oversees. I was fortunate to be able to spend much of my youth in Scotland and Italy while my father was in the Navy and my mother worked at the MWR Recreation Department for a submarine base in Dunoon, Scotland. I have a BS in Recreation from the University of Maine and have resided in the area since 1998. Prior to moving to Concord I worked for the Vienna Parks and Recreation Department in northern Virginia. It was there that I focused on coordinating programs for a large senior population. As a board member for the Centennial Senior Center, I believe I can work to assist in coordinating programs and activities that are of interest to the diverse senior population in the City and surrounding communities. I presently reside in Chichester with my wife Gwen Whitney-Gill and my wonderful daughter Isobella who just started first grade this year.

William Kahlan grew up in Pittsburgh, PA. Completed BS in Business at Robert Morris College. Served 4 1/2 years in the Air Force in Europe. Worked for NCR as a computer systems analysis for 12 years. Moved to Merrimack, NH in 1980. Worked for Nashua Corp. for 18 years. While working for NashuaCorp. completed my MBA at Rivier College in Nashua, NH. In 1991 I started Kahlan Insurance Agency in Concord, NH. I am single living in east Concord for the past ten years. I have two daughters living out of the area. I am on the boards of Fellowship Housing and Dress For Success. Member of the Rotary Club of Concord, Masons and Shriners.

 

Mary Ann Leon is a consultant specializing in management and leadership issues in nonprofit organizations. Before starting her consulting career she served for 18 years as Executive Director of the Granite Chapter of the American Red Cross, where she led the organization through a period of tremendous growth and a successful $2 million capital campaign that resulted in a newly constructed 9,000 sq. ft. chapter headquarters and training center. Mary Ann’s previous experiences include administration of social service and special education programs, development of a Head Start Program in an un-served area, and development of a corporate child care center. Mary Ann received her Masters degree in Education Administration from Illinois State University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Indiana University of PA. She and her husband live in Concord, NH. Other current volunteer activities include Vice Chair of the Concord Housing Authority and Northeast Regional Representative for the American Red Cross Retirement Association.

Nancy Mellitt is currently Director of Resource Development for PlusTime NH. Prior to joining PlusTime, Nancy was Director of Resource Development for United Way of Merrimack County. Nancy has served on the Board of Directors of the Concord Boys & Girls Club, Centennial Home and the Rape & Domestic Violence Crisis Center. Nancy has also served on the United Way of Merrimack County Campaign Cabinet and Chair of the Concord Boys & Girls Club TV Auction for several years. Nancy received the Russell Martin Volunteer of the Year award from United Way of Merrimack County in 1998 and the Business & Professional Women's Association Woman of Achievement award in 2004. Nancy currently volunteers for the Concord Boys & Girls Club Associate Board and the Concord Regional Crimeline Golf Tournament. Nancy is a lifelong resident of Concord and has two children, Ali and Matt Denoncourt.

Lenny Parker is the President of Northeast Pharmacy Services in Concord. He received his B.S. in Pharmacy from The Massachusetts College of Pharmacy in Boston in 1979. Lenny serves on several state boards, including the State Medicaid Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and the Board of Optometry’s Pharmacy and Glaucoma Credentialing Board. He is a past President of the State Board of Pharmacy, where he served for 10 years. Lenny is a Concord native, and he and his wife, Kathy have 4 grown sons. The Parkers are members of Trinity Baptist Church in Concord, where Lenny has served as Treasurer and presently serves as a deacon. In his spare time, Lenny enjoys downhill skiing and baseball. For many years, he coached teams in Concord Northeast Little League and Concord Babe Ruth. Lenny is also an official scorer for the New Hampshire Fisher Cats.

 

 Mark Rouvalis is a lawyer with McLane, Graf, Raulerson and Middleton in Manchester and his practice focuses on commercial and environmental litigation. An experienced trial attorney, he represents businesses and individuals before federal and state trial courts, and appellate courts in a variety of business matters. Mark has extensive experience in mediation and alternative dispute resolution, and is trained as a mediator. He is a Board Member of NH Legal Assistance, former Chair and Board Member of the NH Lakes Association, Chair of First Night NH and was legal counsel for the NH Democratic Party from 1997 to 2003. Mark and his family live in Concord.

 

 

Carol Tait is a retiree who currently works part-time. A resident of Concord for the past 31 years, Carol spent her working career in the Not-For-Profit healthcare management field working at or in affiliation with Concord Hospital. She enjoys a challenge, is a careful listener who seeks collaborative solutions. She has been a member of several non-profit boards, past chair of the Red Cross board, past president of the Zonta Club of Concord and currently a trustee and assistant treasurer at West Church. Carol’s favorite pastimes are her grand and great grandchildren, gardening (she maintains a city adopt-a-spot and also gardens at West Church), refurbishing an old house, biking, skiing and travel when there is time.

Kim Murdoch, Executive Director ~  Kim has extensive nonprofit experience, including nearly 20 years coaching, then managing a local Special Olympics NH team, and a successful tenure as Director of Marketing and Logistics for the Wings of Hope Air Show, which drew 200,000 attendees in its last appearance at Pease.  Kim earned her MBA at the University of New Hampshire's Whittemore School of Business, and worked in corporate finance for many years prior to joining the nonprofit ranks.  Strongly committed to the community, she collaborated with Main Street Concord to organize the popular Free Family Fun at Market Days, presents regularly at the Center for Health Promotion's Baby Steps Program, is a member of Leadership Greater Concord's 2009 class, volunteers for Ragged Mountain Ski Patrol, and serves as Vice Chair of the Leadership Greater Concord steering committee.  Born in Concord, Kim lives near downtown with her husband, Ed Roy, and their children Grace and Charlie.
